Your primary responsibilities will be to
  • Create code for emerging next gen 3D engine technologies
  • Work from project concepts to produce functional software systems and applications
  • Produce a wide range of solutions through programming
  • Undertake research prior to commencing new projects
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • Expert in cutting edge real time rendering techniques including, but not limited to, shadow mapping (TSM, PSM, VSM, PCF, etc.), deferred shading, bump mapping, parallax mapping, lighting models, HDR/PRT/bloom, subsurface scattering, water effects and caustics, particle systems, skinned animation, and post processing effects
  • Strong math background
  • Excellent C++ programming skills

Job Description:
We are currently looking for an experienced, full-time Environment Artist to join our growing team. The main purpose of this position is to produce art assets in line with the project requirements. The ideal candidate will be working with our lead artist to create a wide range of models including plants, furniture, rockwork, landscaping accessories, and textures for the materials library and the 3D models. The Environment Artist usually works from a piece of concept art or source image and creates the model and the texture from start to finish. This includes building the initial model, the creation and subsequent application of texture maps, and in some cases visual effects nodes and graphics shaders for emerging next gen 3D engine technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create high quality graphical content consistent with the style and vision of the company
  • Meet schedules and artistic standards in a professional manner
  • Report back to the Lead Artist on progress and be proactive about issues that may need to be addressed
  • Undertake research prior to the commencement of a new project
  • Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience working with 3D Studio Max
  • Good knowledge of low-poly modeling
  • Ability to create UVW map efficiently with a good use of space and minimal texture distortion

    • Contribute pro-actively to the overall development of Structure Studios through creative ideas based on solid market and sector knowledge.

    • Evaluate trade shows and industry events and advise on where company participation or sponsorship would be appropriate. Negotiate and organize Structure Studios’ presence at these events.

    • Participate fully in professional societies and activities related to the software, pool, and landscape industries in the marketing profession.
