Doug, make sure you have your Angle Snap set accordingly. Under Snaps and Constraints, set it to None and see if the rotate feature works properly again.

Technical Support / Tips and Tricks:: Pool Studio on a Mac
We have tested and had others test with VMWare and Parallels. While the 2d aspects often work ok, the 3D quality and final Presentation will not run as intended. We receive frequent reports from computers running VMWare and Parallels of crashes and error messages. This is true for most DirectX based 3D applications.

Fusion 3 has a free demo I believe, so you can test it out yourself, but be warned it may not be stable when using Pool Studio.

Technical Support / Tips and Tricks:: Terrain
Shapes drawn in walls will follow the terrain. A feature is coming in an upcoming update to allow more options, like making the walls not follow, and even allow you to float them off of the ground.

If you have terrain spilling through a wall, you can use a Deck/Hardscape on one side of the wall and set the Height under Stage Options. In Materials, you can set the Deck/Hardscape to the ground texture like Grass or Dirt.

Technical Support / Tips and Tricks:: "Serious Problem" when downloading latest version
Kathy, you have checked with the laptop manufacturer on the video card? What model of PC are you working with? Can you email over to us your system diagnostics? Go to Help, then About Pool Studio, then click on the Systems Diagnostics button. It may take a few moments, but a new window will come up. Copy the details from that window, and email them to support@structurestudios.com

You can use the Gable roof option to make any side of the house gabled. In a simple 4 sided house, use the Gable function all the 3 sides that rise, and not on the one that stays low to get this effect.

Technical Support / Tips and Tricks:: Missing Screenshots
Not a computer whiz, so I'm not sure how it's all connected (or if it is), but the PS file was 16MB, it was a relatively simple project that would normally yield about a 3MB size. Not sure if moving to 1.755 in the middle of this particular file had anything to do with it, but I deleted a couple items and resaved the file and all is well. Thanks a million!

Vizterra and Pool Studio Suggestions:: Gabel Roof that you can see through
Yes that would be great, please. Also, along the same line of thinking, could we get a way to hide the bottom of the roof when doing a normal hip style roof too.

Let me clarify with an example: We make custom cabanas that have open roofs, just like in the picture above, but instead of having gables, it is a hip roof all the way around, though we also do gables. To make it in Pool Studio now, I have to draw a rectangular house shape, make it 6" tall, give it a roof, and elevate it to the top of the posts. The bottom surface of the house piece is visible and I cannot see up into the roof. I would like to be able to hide that surface.

Exploring it again, it looks like you could just hide the "house piece" and leave the roof visible. That should work for both our cases.

Technical Support / Tips and Tricks:: glass wall for pool??
Hi all,

Has anyone found a way of placing glass viewing windows in a pool or a way to replace a section of pool with a glass infill panel? I need to do 2 pools, one with a fixed glass panel about 400mm high x 3000mm wide.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks
Davo
