The rotate function has suddenly stopped working on objects that I select, the move and scale function work, how do I troubleshoot or correct, please help, Doug

Doug, make sure you have your Angle Snap set accordingly. Under Snaps and Constraints, set it to None and see if the rotate feature works properly again.
