Time of Day and Sun
Sun Controls: Press CTRL plus the left or right arrow keys to rotate the sun around the horizon. Press CTRL plus the up or down arrow keys to change the time of day.
Time of Day Ring: Use the outer Time of Day Ring to adjust the sun position. Left-click directly on a color in the ring to set the desired lighting.
Change the time of day by pressing the letter N on your keyboard or by clicking directly on the Time of Day ring.
When True Shadows are Off, pressing N will cycle through the preset lighting options in order: Optimal, Day, Dusk, and Night.
True Shadows (Vip3D Exclusive)
True Shadows automatically position the sun to rise and set at real-world times and angles, calculated from your client’s project address.
Enter the client’s address when you create the project, or click Location to open the Project Information screen and add an address to an existing file.
Date: Choose a specific time and date to show your client how their project will look on that day.
Location: Displays the Zip code or latitude/longitude for the address entered in Project Information.
Note: When True Shadows is enabled, the sun position is locked to the real-world location and cannot be rotated manually. To quickly toggle True Shadows on or off, press Shift + N.
